Community Living Staff Coordinator

  • Reports to: Assistant Director of Community Living
  • Supervises: Specialists; Scheduler
  • Status / Level: Exempt
  • Purpose: To support people with disabilities in maintaining independent community living.
  • Starts: Immediately

Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Support Functions:

  • Quality control of all services provided in the home by support staff
  • Uses person centered approach around individual client staffing needs and preferences
  • Is fully trained with individual clients and their needs
  • Provides direct support as needed

 Administrative Functions:

  • Recruit, supervise, train and evaluate Scheduling Assistant, Specialists and Personalized Support Assistants and assist with staff development on a day to day basis
  • With assistance from Scheduler, creates and maintains client staffing schedules, reviews daily
  • Reviews staff clock-in data daily, identifies missing information and follows up as needed
  • Approves staff timecards and ensures accuracy
  • Prepares monthly billing reports
  • Provides back up assistance to Emergency Response System carriers
  • Participates in weekly meetings with Case Coordinator, Assistant Director and other Community Living personnel
  • Develops and oversees quarterly training meetings for staff

 Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

 Education and Experience Requirement:

  • Supervisory experience required
  • B.A. in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working with adults with disabilities preferred

Skills requirement:

  • Strong time management skills, patient, detail oriented
  • Proficient in MS Office, time tracking/timekeeping software, ADP, Google Docs
  • American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish or Cantonese skills preferred. Some level of fluency for certain target populations may be required
  • Fluent report writing skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet department/client needs.

Program requirements:

  • Fingerprint background check (Child Abuse Index, Criminal Record Clearance)
  • First Aid/CPR certification required (within 30 days)
  • Clean DMV printout and proof of auto insurance
