Community Integration Instructor - On Call & 30+ hours/week
San Francisco
Purpose: To support adults with developmental disabilities on-the-job and in community activities.
Reports to: Community Integration Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with target population or other relevant experience, preferably in a community-based service.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) desired not required, ability to communicate with minimal-language and foreign-born deaf adults.
- First Aid certification.
- Ability to work flexible hours may be needed.
- Health screening, TB test and fingerprinting as required by the State Department of Developmental Services.
Responsibilities
- Provide communication skills training, including American Sign Language and reading and writing skills in English.
- Provide instruction and support in areas that enable clients to access the communities of their choice, including, but not limited to: public transportation, travel training, employment, education, recreation and leisure skills, hygiene, budgeting, and safety awareness.
- Provide instruction regarding client rights and self-advocacy.
- Responsible for maintaining client progress data and evaluating client skills
- Responsible for completing all required documentation, including monthly billing reports, case notes and additional case records.
- Attend all required meetings and in-services.
- Responsible for maintaining a professional relationship with referral sources, employers, parents, families and appropriate others.
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.
