Employment Development Specialist (Job Coach)

San Francisco, Full-time

  • Reports to: Assistant Director of Community Integration and Employment and/or Community Integration and Employment Coordinator
  • Supervises: N/A
  • Status / Level: Non-Exempt

Client Support Responsibilities

  • Provides training and support that focuses on:
    • Employment Preparation
    • Workplace Essentials including, but not limited to: soft skills training, placement planning, COVID-19 health/safety and education, goal planning, job search skills, communication skills, vocational training and planning info related to client interests and career goals, engagement and satisfaction surveys, onboarding processes for interns, assist with other barriers to employment, assisting with unemployment needs, technology needs and assistance
    • Issues that may impact job readiness and performance including travel training, money management, and other supports
    • Provide instruction regarding client rights and self-advocacy
  • Maintains positive business relationships with management/owners of businesses where clients are placed to ensure ongoing satisfaction of Toolworks’ services
  • Facilitates weekly zoom classesin rotation with other EDS staff

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Follows a daily schedule provided by supervisor and utilizes eRSP to document sessions
    Checks TW email daily during regular working hours/days and responds within one working day
  • Responds to voicemails daily during regular working hours/days and responds within one working day
  • Attends supervisor check-ins monthly or as required by supervisor
  • Attends all agency remote meetings and trainings as assigned
  • Maintains documentation of all in person and remote activity
  • Maintains all client documentation and records including but not limited to:
    • Case notes documenting all remote activity with and/or on behalf of client including time, date, duration, method and activity completed as required by DDS and DOR. Case notes are due on the 15th and last day of the month
    • EDS Tracking forms due on the 15th and last day of the month and submits to supervisor
    • IHSPs
    • Special Incident Reports
  • Keeps First Aid/CPR current

Other duties as required

Education and Experience Requirement

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with adults with disabilities, preferably in a community setting.

Skills requirement

  • American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, Cantonese skills preferred. Some level of fluency for certain target populations may be required.
  • Fluent report writing skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to meet client needs.
  • Able to recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities
  • Strong time management skills, patient, detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

 Program requirements

  • Fingerprint background check (Child Abuse Index, Criminal Record Clearance)
  • First Aid/CPR certification required (within 30 days)

 Compensation

  • $22.36 per hour
