Clients of Note – November

Toolworks has exceptional clients in every one of our departments. Each month we celebrate two of our most positive and active clients with our VIP of the Month award.

As an intern at Bakeworks since March, Rachel Lofton has shown great enthusiasm on the job. Rachel has been a member of our Community Integration program for eight years, since the program for hearing individuals began. In this program, where folks with disabilities learn ways to travel around the city and engage in volunteer work, the focus is on connecting people with disabilities to their community and on building independence.

Rachel has had great success in Community Integration and has since moved onto an internship at Bakeworks where she has been very willing to learn new tasks and always with a big smile on her face. She is meticulous in her personal hygiene and is an all around all-star.

Melanie Bautista, one of our Concord Community Integration clients, joined the program in 2012 and volunteers weekly at the Concord Library. While working toward achieving the President’s Volunteer Service Award, Melanie is always focused and dedicated. She has improved her social skills by researching conversation starters and now greets everyone in her group first thing. She is independent, as evidenced by her taking the bus or driving herself to program, and she is always working on developing that independence further.

Congratulations to our VIPs for the month of November!
