Toolworks, in partnership with people with disabilities, is a human service agency dedicated to providing the tools and resources that promote independence, equality, and personal satisfaction. Toolworks provides several programs including job placement and training, community integration, and supported living services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Client Support Functions

    • Empowerment through Education: Lead transformative training programs tailored to equip our clients with crucial employment skills. Delve into a broad curriculum that includes workplace essentials, soft skills, and vocational training, all designed to align with individual career aspirations and interests.
    • Holistic Support: Beyond skill-building, provide comprehensive support addressing various facets of job readiness and performance, from travel training and money management to technology assistance, ensuring a well-rounded preparation for the workforce.
    • Advocacy and Rights: Champion our clients’ rights, teaching them to navigate the workplace confidently with self-advocacy skills.
    • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, ensuring the seamless integration and continued satisfaction of our clients in their new roles.
    • Innovative Learning: Conduct engaging virtual classes, sharing insights and knowledge to inspire continuous growth and learning among our clients.

    Administrative Excellence:

    • Organizational Skills: Adhere to a structured daily schedule, ensuring meticulous documentation of client interactions and progress with our user-friendly platforms.
    • Communication: Maintain prompt and efficient communication through emails and voicemails, fostering a culture of responsiveness and collaboration.
    • Professional Development: Engage in regular supervisor check-ins and participate in agency-wide meetings and trainings, contributing to our collective expertise and growth.
    • Other duties as Required

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: Bring at least two years of experience in supporting adults with disabilities, preferably within community settings, showcasing a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Education and Experience Requirement

  • A. in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with adults with disabilities, preferably in a community or employment setting.
  • Experience working in the recycling industry, or training programs is highly desirable

Skills requirement

  • Fluent report writing skills.
  • Willingness to work in a variety of settings  
  • Able to recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities.
  • Strong time management skills, patient, detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Forms
  • Familiarity with the use of PPE equipment

Program requirements

  • Fingerprint background check (Child Abuse Index, Criminal Record Clearance)
  • First Aid/CPR certification required (within 30 days)
  • Ability to work in an industrial setting: warehouse, open bay
